Golfscore is a free service for golfers to track their games with. It calculates unofficial
USGA handicaps and can track various other
statistics useful in determining the
state of one's game.
Some people (but not many) may recognize this as being similar to a previous site,
golfscore.com. That site was written in the relatively early days of the Internet boom,
implemented in a combination of PHP and
Postgres and ultimately died a quiet death.
This incarnation of golfscore has been created by the same people resposible for the
original golfscore.com (hence the similarities in layout and function). It was initially
begun as a simple exercise in Java programming and an
exploration of the Jakarta Struts framework,
but grew to the point where we thought that it might be useful to others. There are already
a number of other free golf handicap tracking sites available on the Web, and we are
adding another choice to the mix.
If you have any comments or feedback on the site, additional features that you'd like to see
added, etc., please contact us. We can't promise
that every requested feature will be added, but we will consider each request. In the meantime,
we hope you find this site useful and enjoyable to use.
